Ballroom and Latin Dancing

My name is Thomas Ferrick and I've been dancing for quite some time. I've been the president of the Ballroom Dance Club at Solano College for the past two semesters. I've been traveling this past year taking classes, attending conventions and workshops, and various other functions to improve my skills in Ballroom and Latin Dancing.

Some classes and functions I've attended or are currently attending for Ballroom and Latin dancing would be Solano College (Fairfield), Contra Costa College (San Pablo), Sacramento State Ballroom Classes (Sacramento), CSUS Ballroom Social (Sacramento), CSUS Salsa Loca (Sacramento), Ellington Hall (Santa Rosa), Dance Unlimited (Vallejo), Midtown Stomp (Sacramento), The Flamingo Resort (Santa Rosa), Monroe Hall (Santa Rosa), Dancing Under the Stars (Oakland), 2010 SF Salsa Congress (San Francisco), and many more.

East Coast Swing (Jitterbug)

East Coast Swing for the moment I'd have to say is my strongest dance, and it's also one of the easiest dances to learn. East Coast Swing was derived from the Jitterbug, which grew out of the dance halls of Harlem during the 1920’s. It's a great American dance with a lot you energy! =)

This was a routine I had to put together and perform for a final in less than two weeks.

Salsa on the 1

Salsa would be my second strongest dance, and it's the most popular latin dance in the world.

Bachata

Bachata is one of the most recent dances I've learned, but is quickly becoming one of my strongest. This is another popular dance and one of the most sensual of the latin dances. It has a very simple basic step that when you get the hang of it, you'd learn to be able to incorporate moves from other dances you may have learned.

I have a little bit of experience with various other dances. I have a good hold of a lot of the fundamentals, and various beginning level moves.
